The windows go in and the building begins to come to life. Occupied mainly by sheep for the past 50 years, nature had embraced both the inside and outside of the highly exposed structure, as if to protect it from the elements. Perched on the Cotswold Edge between Campden and Broadway, Buckle Barn has commanding views over the Vale of Evesham.
Externally, the original clay tiles were stripped, sorted and re-used and broad oak boards await their blackened finish to replicate the historic cladding.
Historic internal studwork and quirky noggins between floor joists are being retained and expressed as part of our brilliant client’s pared back vision for the interior.
