Nr. Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire

An extensive restoration and extension to an existing grade II listed former vicarage, including the conversion of outbuildings as well as the construction of a new, oak framed garage. The Victorian, ashlar stone house had been rather neglected in recent decades and, as a key building within the village, in need of urgent repair. Beyond the fundamental requirement to secure and restore the structure of the property, there was also need of alterations internally in order to adapt the property to a more modern way of living.

The addition of a traditional oak framed conservatory to the rear of the property, as well as the removal of the servant's passage from the old kitchen, allowed the ground floor spaces to flow. This not only reinstated the fireplace to the main hall but also incorporated the kitchen back into the family living areas.
